COMMENTS
I apologise in advance, I can't always reply to comments. When I first started blogging I didn't factor in that it would be interactive: I genuinely thought nobody would ever read it. So when I got my first ever comments (and they were nice, thoughtful comments), I almost keeled over in consternation and delight. Ye gods, actual people were reading, I'd have to lift my game. The sense of community engendered by the comments system on blogs is a lovely thing. Blogging, ideally, is a conversation.
Of all the activities that can be pruned, social contact - virtual or otherwise - is the hardest. I appreciate that it takes time to leave a note, and feel I'm ignoring people by not responding, which is not the case. I treasure your comments!
I love to hear from you, so please keep sharing your thoughts and introducing yourself. You can be anonymous or invent a nom de blog. I've made it easier to leave comments by taking off the word verification thingie - I don't know about you, but it does my head in.
DOCTOR RECOMMENDATIONS
Names and identifying details of my treating medical professionals are omitted or changed on the blog to maintain their privacy - I'm not able to provide their details via email either, sorry.
I understand that it's difficult to find doctors informed with current knowledge on ME/CFS, and how frustrating that is, given that the medical profession seem to understand updated info about other conditions almost by osmosis.
If you're looking for an Australian doctor or other medical professional with experience in treating ME/CFS, I recommend you ask at OzME, one of the other Australian forums listed in 'Community Gardens', or your state ME/CFS Society. Your existing care provider may also benefit from the ME/CFS Clinical Guidelines available on the ME/CFS Australia site.
There is also this database for doctors in the US, Canada, Australia and the UK - it hasn't been around for long, but may be worth checking out.
