Even freelance hermits like social networking

Orright! Here's an administrivial update.

Anticipating an imminent future lifestyle wherein computer access will be scarce and a mobile phone my primary internet access, I am getting my social networking affairs in order.

Previously I used to share links and other tidbits not requiring a whole blog post via Google Reader, but the nimrods at Google HQ killed that option. I'm still miffed about it. Some nice folk have written and asked where I'm sharing stuff instead. The answer has been twitter...sort of...but mostly I haven't been sharing as many links as I used to.

But I've just gotten all fancy and finished setting up an Official! Facebook! Page! for the blog. Still getting used to driving it, bear with me.

I like twitter, but I've been told that many people find faffbook more convenient. So I'll use it as the primary method of posting links to new blog posts, articles and research, garden love, miscellaneous flotsam that catches my interest. (I've connected the twitter and facebook pages, so if you're a mad-keen tweet-fiend, the same content will appear there too.)

If any of this is your cup of tea (no worries if not), clicking 'like' on FB or 'following' on twitter will mean that things and stuffs I post should pop up in your feed. It won't be a deluge, but if it's too much, you can 'unlike', 'hide from newsfeed' or 'unfollow' anytime.

The existing 'subscribe by email' option to be updated of new blog posts is still a goer and always will be, so hopefully there's an option to suit everyone.

And in case you've not seen them previously, below are all the social networking links associated with the blog, and links also in sidebar on right:

green words growing - facebook page

green words growing - twitter

green words growing - pinterest

green words growing - subscribe to posts via email

See you on the internet, poppets.

Thanks so much for your thoughts. I try my best but I'm not always able to reply. In that instance, advance apologies, and an explanatory spiel here.

Anybody can comment: click on the drop-down menu and choose which name you'd like to use. You can invent a nom de blog/use real name/include your URL so others can visit you on the web.

Type your comment in the box, and if you'd like email notification of follow-up comments, click on 'Subscribe by email', then 'Post Comment'.

Rather than use word verification, I check comments to filter spam - yours will show up as soon as I've done that.
