Schoolies

There are schoolies staying in our building. I know they're schoolies because it's late November and suddenly there was loud music playing at 2pm with an accompaniment of galloping adolescents. I think they must trot from one end of the unit to the other, and again, and again, like caged lions. There’s lots of thumping, I think they wrestle, too. But the best bit is the screaming. They're all boys, and every few hours they feel the burning need to go out on the balcony and go:

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!!!

I don't remember the boys screaming when I was at school? I remember them throwing tennis balls at each other and sniggering, but no screaming. It must be a Gen Y thing, they're in touch with their inner hysteria and they have coiffed hair. They've also been chucking paper aeroplanes and plastic commandos with paper parachutes off the balcony, they love it when they drift down and catch on other people's balconies. I've been enjoying the spectacle, it's nice to see them happy and drunk and free.
