The inevitable beauty of spring

flowering succulent
Made it out to the balcony to say g'day to my succulents - the ultimate plant for the non-sprightly gardener. Gave them all a fright by bellowing YO! at them. They say you should talk to your plants, had to make up for lost time, let 'em know there's life in the old duck yet. Spring has sprung, as dad used to say, and one succulent has flowered for the first time ever! I was captivated. The entire cluster of yellow blooms on each stalk is tiny, about the size of my little finger tip. I always get the yips when I take photos, hence the slight blurring.

  2. Hi Greenwords, I've been trying in vain to reply to you but my email bounced back. Here's what it said:

I was so thrilled to read your comment on my blog as I discovered your blog too, thanks to Ciara MacLaverty, just before you found mine. As she predicted, it blew me away! Your writing is very special and very, very close to home for me. Sorry it's taken me ages to reply, I've had computer complications. I'm delighted you found me.
Looking forward to reading more of your precious words,
    (Sofamum)

PS Loved your description of Spring. I love succulents too.

Thanks so much for your thoughts. I try my best but I'm not always able to reply. In that instance, advance apologies, and an explanatory spiel here.
